 This movie is incredible. A ton of fun with brilliant action and hilarious dialogue this is another fantastic win for Marvel. Paul Rudd plays a likable and charismatic hero who really makes you root for him and his goals. Michael Pena is the real heist of this film as he steals every scene that he is in. Corey Stoll as the villain was a fantastic choice from Marvel. He can play the corporate business man and an intimidating villain. The visuals are stunning in this film. All of the tiny ant scenes are visually outstanding and hilarious. The are two post credit scenes which are fantastic and really tie into the larger universe. Ant Man is a fantastic movie which is worth your money and I suggest that you see it in cinemas.

Speaking as a Terminator-fan: Excellent. At times perfect.

I am a huge Terminator fan. Terminator 2 is my favorite movie ever, and I find it to be the best movie ever made.

So yeah, this review is biased, but not to an extreme degree.

Terminator Genisys is an excellent movie for Terminator fans. It's for the fans. It's the Terminator sequel we deserve. I'm one of those who liked Terminator 3, but Genisys is definitely more in tune with Camerons original two.

If you are not a fan, though. First off, why are you not a fan? Either you are too young, or you.. well, what the hell's wrong with you!? (Kidding...A little bit) Anyway, if you are not a fan this is still an entertaining action movie. It looks really good, the effects are pretty much top notch, the action is entertaining, the parts that are supposed to be are exciting, the acting is mostly solid. Some reviews I've seen say it's devoid of humor, but I disagree. There are small jokes sprinkled pretty evenly around.

But for the fans.. Oh my. This is so in tune with Camerons originals! I think the only one who could have made this any better is Cameron himself.

Of course, it would have been a much better movie-experience if the trailers hadn't spoiled so much, but whaddayagonnado!? When there's a trailer for a new Terminator-movie, I'm gonna see that trailer.

But even if the trailers spoiled a lot, I won't.

I will say this though. There are a lot of nods, references, and direct connections to Camerons originals here. You will recognize plenty of stuff. Some big, some smaller. Sound effects, visual stuff, it is very true to Camerons vision. Very nice. And the song, oh, just pierces my heart!

I am also happy to say that they have brought back some of the more emotional concepts that we loved from T2, and that was sorely missing from T3. Not to the same extent as in T2, but still, a lot better than the two previous entries.

Funny thing is that almost none of the main actors are American, haha. Austria, Australia, England, Korea representin'! Anyhow, the actors are all good. I'm not super loving Jay Courtney, but he did alright. Emilia, Jason, Byung-hun - all real good. Seeing Arnold again, damn! He is just great. Just seeing his name at the beginning, I almost teared up!

The fact that it's PG13 didn't bother me much either. Yeah the blood was awesome in T2, but it's alright that we don't get it here. As for the nudity, it wouldn't have hurt us, but hey, partial nudity is alright too. Anyway the rating doesn't take anything away, there's still plenty of violence.

It is just fantastic to see Terminator-stuff made with 2015-technology. Those endoskeletons.. Awesome! And a certain scene partially lifted from a certain movie, damn! So cool to see.

I haven't got much bad to say, some of the dialogue and one-liners could have been a tad better, a couple of the jokes are a little overused, but it's mostly nitpicking I think.

I can honestly say, as a life long (I saw T2 the first time when I was really little) Terminator-fan, I enjoyed the hell out of this. Already looking forward to seeing it again. It was at times perfect. Very entertaining.

Hidiously bad...

How Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgård ever let themselves be dragged down with this waste of film real I'll never know. That said they are little more than extras in this movie, both in it for a meager 15 minutes at most. It's astonishing really. It's not that often that you see a movie with a decent budget blow chunks so high but this one did it. Funny enough I knew ahead of time, I read the pour reviews, stayed away and finally watched it when it was free and I had nothing else better to do (or so I thought), and still I feel cheated...

What's really sad is I knew 5 minutes into it, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 40 minutes, heck the whole time I knew I was watching a crappy movie that dare I say I probably could have done a better job directing, and or acting in for that matter. It's really an awful feeling to be watching a movie and usually where there's that slightest bit of hopeful feeling that things will get better, but in this movie I had none of that and merely watched it to it's end as if to watch a ship sink into the ocean.

I'm never this negative about movies far as reviews go but I have to say this movie flunked on all levels, boring story, bad directing, bad action, bad acting. The special effects weren't bad but that doesn't score you any points these days unless it's something marvel, which this was not. I mean at one point we're actually playing "battleship" like the age old game, as if just because the sun went down we cannot detect the aliens ships and just because they are "sun challenged" they despite being able to travel faster than the speed of light across millions of light miles to get here can't seem to pick our ships out of water at night without line of sight? Oh and when the sun comes up it actually blinds them? I mean really??? And we as a semi intelligent audience are actually supposed to buy all this? I literally wasted two hours of my life, plus more to write this review which I hope will save someone some time.

Storyline

Mad Max: Fury Road sees veteran maestro director George Miller return to the Mad Max franchise after a 30 year hiatus.

Fury Road is a hallmark in action films. Miller's post-apocalyptic future provides an impeccable backdrop for the crescendo of mayhem present in this movie. From the first scene to the last, there is plenty of spectacular action, vehicular and human. The cinematography is lush throughout. From the opening shot of the lizard being stomped by Max (Tom Hardy) to all the action scenes raging in the desert, the camera-work remains consistently on point. Many iconic shots are to be found in this movie.

75% of the movie consists of action; so much that there isn't an 'action SCENE' present. Any action aficionados will have their expectations transcended while common moviegoers will have their satisfaction met too. What is surprising, however, is the emotional heft of the 25% that remains. Much of it is dedicated to the back story of Furiousa (Charlize Theron) who effortlessly delivers an Oscar worthy performance by mixing brawn with emotion for her internally wounded character.

Nicholas Hoult's Nux, who provides one of the best lines of the film: "It's a lovely day!" at the midst of a crazy thunderstorm consisting tornadoes consisting cars consisting mad humans. Nux is an interesting character in this interesting world and provides plenty of the action by his well... actions.

Finally, Tom Hardy's delivers a subtle performance as Mad Max. For a character whose name is slapped largely in the film poster, he receives barely a page of dialogue minus a monologue at the start. Considering the fact that he wears a Bane-like (see the parallel) mask throughout much of the film, it is surprising how powerful his performance actually is.

One musical masterpiece act in the movie comes in the form of the guy the mask furiously shredding a flame-throwing electric guitar while dangling above a mobile wall of speakers that roars through the desert. Imagine that. When all hell breaks loose only accompanied by that as the background music, epic is truly an understatement as a description.

Overall, Mad Max is a gleefully insane symphony of destruction that makes the Avengers seem like misfits and the Fast and Furious crew seem like the Slow and Sweet crew. This action packed masterpiece exhibits no shortage of high voltage, 2,000 horsepower action that also contains of lush cinematography, sufficient character development and a satisfactory plot (that works, cause it's 75% action anyways). Mad Max: Fury Road is definitely one of, if not the finest blockbuster of 2015!

A Fantastic Disaster Film

When San Andreas was first announced I was super excited for the film. First and foremost about the disaster element of the film. I love the disaster sub-genre of films. Adding Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the lead only put icing on the cake. San Andreas turns out to be one exciting thrill ride from start to finish. It is not perfect in areas of acting and story, but the film is overall very fun to watch. The following is my review of San Andreas.

San Andreas was written by Carlton Cuse, Andre Fabrizio, and Jeremy Passmore. Cuse is more well known having worked on hit TV shows such as Lost and more recently Bates Motel. Fabrizio and Passmore worked on smaller projects together such as a film called Special, and a low budget action film starring Bruce Willis called The Prince. The story area is one area of the film that lacks, but disaster films like this aren't known for great overall stories. Even my favorite disaster films of the 70s were written loosely. The film follows Ray(The Rock) as he tries to save his family during this mega Earthquake. Frankly, that sums up the entire plot of the film. Nothing else to really tell. The film really delivers on special effects and overall amazing CG. That will be talked about more in the next paragraph. Even with a loose story, the characters connect well, even if they aren't that well developed overall. Cuse, Fabrizio, and Passmore write a story that moves things along, and frankly the story outside of being thin is not bad, and doesn't drag on.

The film was directed by Brad Peyton. Peyton directed another film with The Rock as the star called Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film is wonderfully shot, and for a thinner budget of about 100 million dollars, the CG is mostly enjoyable. Here and there it clearly looks absurd, but for the most part it was not noticeable. The action is the front and center piece of the film. With mega Earthquakes hitting California, the action picks up right out of the gate, not even 20 minutes into the film. Little buildup before that, and I'm glad they took that approach. Generally disaster movies that are made these days, which are rare, can cost 200 million or so to film. For them to make a film on a budget of 100 million dollars to look like this is impressive. Still has flaws in the CG, but overall this aspect was impressive. The acting department is lead by The Rock(Dwayne Johnson) and also stars Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, and Ioan Gruffudd and Paul Giamatti in smaller roles. The actors overall are great. The Rock has never really delivered an amazing performance, but he has always leads an action film well. That is the case once again. Adding Cugino and Giamatti just helps out the overall acting aspect of the film. Peyton directs a fun filled action disaster film that most should enjoy.

The film was composed by Andrew Lockington. Lockington is known for scoring the Journey to the Center of the Earth films(The Rock stars in the second film), and also Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. The score for a disaster film is key, and in my opinion Lockington hit the ball out of the park. With many action scenes in the film it calls for a deeper score, but also low key material in more dramatic scenes. He adapts well over the course of the film, and his score adds amazing depth to this great film. Big thumbs up for the score of this film.

In closing, San Andreas is just one heck of a fun disaster movie. With the sub-genre basically dead recently, it was great seeing such an enjoyable film like this on the big screen again. I'm hoping it saves the sub-genre overall, but even if it doesn't, this is a film to fall back on. There is still hatred for disaster movies like this from some movie goers, but if you are a fan of those older disaster films, you should find some enjoyment out of this film. I would highly recommend that everyone see this in theaters.

This is a typical Disney movie, in a positive sense, that show and teach kids (and also adults) about imagination, courageous, persistence, the power of dream, family value, etc. Same ingredients, different scripts.

Tomorrowland will bring you to the future world with all the perfection and state of the art technology, anything that kids could've thought of, with nice animation and portrayal of future city, transportation, people, with also the touch of fun inside. The era where human can time travel, master the quantum mechanic and use it to ease the life.

All is great, all is beautiful, all is encouraging... But the story is just so typical and predictable, i kind of regret to see the movie just before the first half ended, and hope it will end soon, I think I'm not the only once since I watch few people left the theater before the movie ended :(. This movie is like The Matrix meets Back To The Future, so last year and easily forgettable. Not a really pleasant way to spend my two hours..

Storyline

Manly action film

Lesson learned: don't get on retired legendary hit-man John Wick's bad side. In the film of the same name, he goes back into action shooting up bad guys in a city where it seems that the cops have all simultaneously taken a vacation. Played by surprisingly youthful quinquagenarian Keanu Reeves, John Wick's style of shooting baddies is reminiscent of my days playing Whac-A-Mole, Duck Hunt, or any of those arcade games with the plastic guns. Wick is a vengeant superman, and this is the basis of the entire movie. Although he doesn't have a clear weakness that can be exploited like most heroes, Wick does get into enough trouble for the audience to be sincerely worried about him.

If you're planning on seeing John Wick because you like movies with clever or meaningful story lines, then you're going to be disappointed. If you are looking for raw well- choreographed action and machismo, then look no further. House Greyjoy's Alfie Allen stands out as villainous Russian mafia brat Iosef Tarasov, and Michael Nyqvist (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) plays Viggo, his mob boss father. Adrianne Palicki, Willem Dafoe, Ian McShane and Dean Winters round out a strong supporting cast.

Overall, I enjoyed John Wick as a pure action film. It doesn't have a storyline like The Matrix or Speed, but it was visually entertaining and the simplicity of the story allowed for appreciation of the action. This movie is manly and primitive, and proves that at the age of 50, Keanu Reeves can still mix it up as an action star.

Throne of Atlantis was an alright, sometimes cheesy film. The only thing that made me watch this movie till the end was Mera's feet. I love her design in this film, and how they made her semi-barefoot! Although sometimes her feet would be horribly animated if like, from a far distance, or fighting, or just too lazy to animate it right. Amazing Mera's feet...yeah, that's all I have to say about this film. Very nice feet... that's really it to be honest. And yes I have feet fetish, the more you know. Ummm...yeah, well this is awkward now. Hey, you like that new leaked Aquaman costume. Pretty cool, makes him look badass...OK good day now

Attempting to harvest local crocodile genes, the release of giant anacondas forces the town sheriff and a wildlife officer to try to hunt down the deadly creatures rampaging through the local community.Overall this one was quite the enjoyable and entertaining offering. Despite being the fifth entry in each series, the fact that this one manages to incorporate the aspects of each one is quite impressive, managing to go through the snake series with a marginal recap of what happened there and keeping the events that transpired so as not to truly forget the efforts of that franchise while keeping the location and set-up from the final crocodile effort in place so as to ensure that there's some cohesive logic between the two. This makes the meeting of the two all the more logical and enjoyable by putting them into the universe which allows for a lot of great parts here as the action between the two creatures brings in a lot of fun. The opening attempt to conduct their experiments that results in the creatures getting loose is quite fun with the croc getting loose and forcing a host of defensive tactics to free itself, the baby crocs get a really nice scene where they stalk and attack a poacher in the forest, the initial assault on the sorority initiation is quite impressive as the attack on the wake-boarder leads to the boat attack and subsequent massacre on the beach at the same time, the chase through the woods and finally the attempts to flee in their cars results in some really enjoyable and exciting suspense scenes with the attempts to break into the car to get at them and the chases once the girls are free makes this one quite the highlight. The nice gore and kills here certainly aren't that bad either, and the comic relief from the ineffectual deputy takes on some goofy charms here that manages to feel in tune with the rest of the film here which makes for it's positive points. There's a few small flaws here, namely the fact that the titular creatures only get one real battle here to come together, and it's barely worth mentioning with the majority of the time anyway taken up with the pleas between the two human parties both for killing and saving the animals. That's not all that impressive here and really could've given the snakes more time in the story with them barely appearing anyway as the crocs get more of the screen time, and with a few small re-writes could've removed them from the story altogether and made this a sole killer crocodile film. While the CGI again looks pretty bad and gives away both the inconsistent size and appearance of both creatures, the last flaw here is a slew of unresolved and unexplained encounters that are never picked up or explored again leading to question why a ton of time was spent on their inclusion. Still, for the most part this one was a lot of great fun.

The film is simply about Sathyadev - his ambitions, love and his take over gangsters.

The major loophole of the film is its pre-interval portions. The pre-interval portions of the film are narrated too slow with a sluggish screenplay. But the film takes over in the post-interval portions at a good pace.

The film has a strong cast, where Ajith Kumar & Arun Vijay had a good scope to perform in the film and they are perfect in their roles. The scenes involving Ajith & Arun Vijay are a treat for the audience. Action scenes are well choreographed by Stunt Silva.

Overall this is the movie which is a treat for action movie lovers. The film definitely worth your money.

Storyline

"There is no such thing as a bad Tony Jaa movie." Well this could be the exception.

On paper this was a "dream team" movie and I was anxious to see it.

Lundgrin both produced and wrote. That sounded very promising.

Not only is Tony Jaa in the film but he speaks English and his character is named "Tony." Also very promising.

Also starring Michael Jai White. In my review of Falcon Rising I called him "the most under-used action hero" in the business. Very very promising.

But here the total is less than the sum of its parts:

1. Lundgren wrote himself into a part meant for a 40 year old and he himself is pushing 60. Not cool.

2. Jai White is completely wasted (again!) and wears a suit all the time...?

3. The script is weak and the direction is terrible. Even the action scenes seem "off" by a few seconds here and a few seconds there.

Could have been so much more. The opening is the best part and is downhill from there. Perlman is great. but he never gives less than a great performance anyway.

Storyline

Vishi is a local goon who basically likes beating up people to get his work done but is nonetheless a kind-hearted person. On the other hand Khushi is an extremely clumsy girl who keeps losing her chances with destiny and gets suddenly lucky after she accidentally meets Vishi. Amidst the building chemistry between Khushi and Vishi, local cops and an international don named Xavier are on the look-out for AJ aka Jai who is a look alike of Vishi and is in the same city. The story takes a major turn of events when both AJ and Vishi come face to face.

Watch this movie and see what is the product when everything is done wrong while making a movie. First, i want to know why Ajay is doing such a film. I mean common dude, you've done the legendary Singham which was of similar genre. Sonakshi has also done some meaningful movies such as Lootera, but then she is back at what she thinks she does best, that is, 15-20 min full on bindass role, which by the way also comprises of 1 or 2 songs. The one person who was bearable to watch was Yami Gautam. Maybe because most of the time she wasn't talking and the dialogs were disaster. Then there was a vamp, who was projected as, i think that was the intention of the story writer, a witch or a ghost, i don't know. When she entered the whole movie went from disaster to catastrophic. I was literally throwing popcorn at screen pretending and also wishing that they were big stones. So, go watch this movie if you want to waste your money and time, even if the tickets are free.

'Agni'(2014) is certainly Bangladeshi Bangla Action Thriller Movie at it's best. The making, action sequences, drama,photography, music, background score are simply astounding.It's a giant leap for the commercial Bangladeshi movie into a new era. The plot and sequences are crisp and devoid of any redundancy. The plot though sometimes reminded me of the 2011 French-American action film "Colombiana". A girl prepare herself for the revenge of the gruesome murder of her parents and train herself for the same and ended up killing them all.But, the narration of the story in celluloid was very masterful and drew a huge Bangladeshi crowd to the theaters after such a long time.Certainly the kudos goes to the whole teams and crews of "Agni". The tile song "Ami Agni" was a rock number and well-suited for such an action thriller.We want to see such entertaining and well produced movies from Bangladeshi Film Industry in the days to come.

Storyline

Home Minister Janardhan Jagirdarand chief Minister Anna Saheb are much concerned over the criminal activities of underworld dons Rawal and Rauf Lala. Rawal is operating from Bangkok while Rauf supervises his gang from Mumbai. The famous Encounter Squad is activated to counter the gangsters and restore peace in the area. The formidable Sadhu Agashe (Nana Patekar) is requested to take charge of the peace-keeping mission. At first he is reluctant but after continuous insistence, he agrees to launch a counter attack against Rawal and Lala Rauf gangs and the action begins.

Ab Tak Chhappan (2004) is a movie that stands all by itself; it doesn't need a sequel nor can a proper sequel be made out of what was left at the end of the film. So even if this is a daunting effort, the tediousness will bore you.

Now, the plot of this much-anticipated sequel is hauntingly similar to its prequel. All-star encounter specialist Sadhu Agashe (Patekar) comes out of retirement and rebuilds his reputation as a maverick. The sidekicks are new, though the attention-seeker that was played by Yashpal Sharma then is now played by Ashutosh Rana in a seemingly absurd role. The same phone conversations with an overseas gangster, collateral damage, raw language, camera work, and Patekar's distinct talking style are all reminiscent of the brilliant movie we adored a decade ago, but twenty minutes later, the narration fails to arrest our senses. Slowly though, the tension picks up, but soon fades away. We end up feeling displeased.

Had most of the previous cast brought back, this could have been made into a much better thriller, but given that Agashe is fighting the bureaucracy this time, all is built on stinking stones of predictability. The scattered sequences and bad editing further adds to the damage done to the original film. Moreover, the climax goes slightly overboard, dealing and being priggish about the current state of politics.

Patekar is brilliant as always, and he does a splendid work. Rana is wasted and I wonder what Gul Panag as a crime reporter was doing in the film. She barely had a role to play and is only found shouting.

BOTTOM LINE: If you loved the 2004 film, you may give it a try, for it is an average thriller. Otherwise, skipping wouldn't be harmful.

The Two Young Stars are Much Better than the Movie

The two young stars, Canadian beauty Marie Avgeropoulos and Taylor Lautner, are both considerably better than the material.

Which is a back-handed compliment since the material is pretty terrible.

What you have here is a targeted-to-young-audience "street drama" with pretensions of being an action thriller because of the backdrop of Free-Jumping. In fact the closest antecedents would be the "crime dramas" of the 1940s. Sort of.

That is a lot of ambition here and very little in the way of delivery.

There are problems galore. The script is all over the place. Sometimes it thinks it is a rom-com. Sometimes it thinks it is a Van Damme knockoff. And sometimes it thinks it is West Side Story.

The free-jumping scenes are over-directed. What that means is that while the film tries to maintain a "street cred" sort of realism, the action scenes are so well choreographed you might think you were watching a music video. This creates dissonance, which does not help the viewer experience.

And the action climax, the last 10 minutes which is where most films get to shine, is actually weaker than the first 10 minutes, where the romance starts. Which is hardly a great recommendation.

Bottom line: the two stars deserve better. Much better.
