Storyline

Dolly (Sonam Kapoor) seems like the perfect bride to go with the perfect family, maybe too perfect as her unsuspecting grooms from all sorts of ethnic and religious backgrounds find out the hard way that she's a serial con artist who makes away with their wealth after wedding them. Its upto police inspector Robin (Pulkit Samrat) and two disgruntled grooms Sonu (Rajkumar Rao) and Manjot (Varun Sharma) to catch the group of thieves in the act.

'Dolly Ki Doli' is a Mediocre film, that's not high on pluses. Its an off-repeated tale, with not much newness or entertainment working on its favor.

'Dolly Ki Doli' Synopsis: Dolly marries men of different religion for their wealth. Until...A Cop gets on her trial.

'Dolly Ki Doli' at a crisp 100-minutes, has a breezy first-hour, but a soulless second. The "supposed" twist in the tale & the reason behind the protagonist's continuous conning, comes across as under-developed. The impact is missing!

Abhishek Dogra's Screenplay has a few moments, but overall, is plain mediocre. There's not a single new element in the Screenplay, which deserves a mention. Dogra's Direction is fine. Cinematotaphy & Editing are credible.

Performance-Wise: Sonam Kapoor is strictly okay. Despite being the protagonist, the actress doesn't perform up-to the mark. Rajkummar Rao is the silver lining of 'Dolly Ki Doli'. He's absolutely brilliant as the Jatt from Haryana. Varun Sharma is a cartoon, while Pulkit Samrat has a Salman Khan hang-up. Archana Puran Singh is hilarious in a bit role. Manoj Joshi & Brijendra Kala are dependable, as ever. Saif Ali Khan is stiff in a cameo.

On the whole, 'Dolly Ki Dolly' is, at best, an ordinary fare.

Storyline

Prem Prakash Tiwari (Ayushmann Khurrana) listening to Kumar Sanu is the film's opening shot. Set in Haridwar, 1990s, the film captures the nascent feel of the town. Prem owns a cassette shop in the local market. His father is keen to get him hitched and the family goes to a local temple to meet Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar). B.Ed, waiting for a teaching job, the most visible thing about her is her weight. Coming from a patriarchal cognitive set-up, she doesn't fit the quintessential idea of beautiful. This movie does touch the realistic side of commoners with a hint of comedy within it. In a span of two hours the movie covers all the problems and changes a newly wed couple go through. Groom not ready to accept that bird watching is no more an option for him and bride trying to settle in a house where her education is an envy point for others. The comic melodrama keeps the viewer glued to their seats till the end of the movie. Music is nice and simple which pushes viewer to cherish the old and simple times. It was hard to believe that Bhumi Pednekar debuted with Dumb laga ke Haisha. Her eyes and facial expressions never made me feel that I was missing anything in the movie. Part I loved was, when Ayushmaan and Bhumi fight over the songs to be played in the tape recorder. Must say a brilliant idea!!

Movie is worth watching.. It has many spoilers but still the plot, music, visuals, direction and SUNNY LEONE make it a nice watch.. Music is really too good and carries a perfect absorption in the movie Sunny leone has groomed a lot in her acting skills The movie could have been improved much but still what made is good enough and something we could expect from a debutant director and a new actor Sunny Leone as she never did roles that demanded appropriate acting skills One more thing to be appreciated is that the movie contains minimum sex content by sunny leone by whom she is generally known it has a good combination of drama, comedy and romance so go for it and finally the gorgeous sunny has started her proper acting career go wish her luck!!

Storyline

Two CIA agents, Tuck and Frank who are also best friends, have been benched because someone's after them. Tuck is divorced with a son whom he's not close to and Frank is a ladies man. Tuck decides to try and find someone so he places his profile on a dating website. Lauren, a woman also looking for a guy sees Tuck's profile and goes with him. She later bumps into Frank and he hits on her and she goes out with him. She's intrigued by both of them. When they learn that they're dating the same girl, they agree to let her choose. But both can't help but use their skills to keep tabs on her and each other. And also sabotage each other's dates with her.

Great movie--Why are critics bashing? An actually funny comedy.

Okay, critics, what the hell? I saw this movie at 7:30 at Movieland: A Bow Tie Cinema in Richmond, VA. Great theater, props! Anyways. The theater was packed. It was the biggest screen, too, but it was the only showing. If the audience reaction was anything to go on, this movie was hilarious. I certainly thought so. But not only that—it was a good movie!

Summary aside, this movie actually turned out to be one of my favorite romantic comedies and buddy comedies all in one. It was very fast-paced. It had the element of government agents, but also government agents that abuse their job's resources. There are 'bad guys' but it doesn't dominate the movie. The scenes with the bad guys start off with the preconception that they would be long and intense, but were actually only 60 seconds long and just a short break between the comedy and action. The funny parts—yes, they were funny. I was cracking up the entire time, and I don't do that often. Visually it looked amazing; watching on Blu-Ray will be spectacular. I, for one, will buy this on Blu-Ray. My roommate will thank me.

Yes, young people like myself will enjoy this movie, but it's also targeted for late twenties-late thirties people thinking about love and marriage. I saw a lot of older couples at the theaters and they were enjoying it just as much—they were laughing loudest, in fact! I'd give this movie a 9/10. Pure enjoyment.

So my issue: WTF Critics? You give this movie zero credit. Is it because of the actors? They're all great actors. Plot? Actually pretty good—somewhat predictable in hindsight but I'd still watch the movie again. Director? Supernatural and Nikita both have a fanbase, and aren't that bad with action or drama. If they actually watched the movies they wouldn't have rated it that low; I think they were going off plot summary. Back off, critics! When more people see this movie the ratings will go up! Rotten tomatoes said audience enjoyed it 71% so far, but opening day isn't even over yet. Critics give it 33%? Come on. (From tvcinema.tumblr.com (my blog) )
